01 — About

Hi, I'm Sophie.
On the court and in the clinic.

I'm a Year 10 student from Melbourne who plays VJBL basketball. Sport has taught me discipline, resilience and the value of showing up for a team — and it's also where I discovered my real passion: helping athletes recover, prevent injuries and perform at their best.

I'm motivated, reliable and excited to learn from professionals in sports physiotherapy, health sciences and sports medicine. I'd love the chance to step into a real clinical or sporting environment and contribute everything I've learned from the court.

02 — Basketball Journey

Built on the hardwood.

Basketball is where I've learned discipline, resilience and what it takes to keep showing up for a team. It's shaped how I think about training, recovery and leadership.

Discipline

Train, recover, repeat.

Teamwork

One unit, one goal.

Resilience

Lose, learn, level up.

03 — Leadership & Refereeing

Reading the game from both sides of the whistle.

Through MCBA basketball referee training I've grown my confidence in fast-paced environments, making clear decisions under pressure and communicating with players, coaches and parents — all skills I want to bring into a healthcare setting.

Clear Communication

Calling games sharpens how I explain decisions calmly and clearly.

Composure Under Pressure

Tight games teach you to stay focused when everything speeds up.

Respect & Responsibility

Officiating means owning the moment — and treating every player fairly.

04 — Community

Showing up off the court too.

I volunteer with the C Care meal delivery program, bringing meals to families in the Melbourne community. It's taught me empathy, dependability and that small acts of help genuinely matter — values I want to carry into every healthcare environment I work in.
